Military papers of Josiah Jones of the 7th Regiment of Connecticut Infantry; includes letter dated 1875 stating that the nets are catching many shad in Mayport, Florida, but that David Kemps refuses to buy shad caught on Sunday. Mrs. Ford used the money she earned washing to redeem the violin her husband had pawned to buy liquor.
